The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. We perform research and testing in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry to improve the safety of products and processes. At BAM we do research that matters. Your responsibilities include:
Further development of laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) for biomedical samples within the framework of the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1340 “Matrix in Vision“
- Planning and realisation of measurements with LA-ICP-MS in cooperation with the project partners
- Further development of quantification strategies for LA-ICP-MS
- Summarising the results in scientific reports and publications and presenting them at conferences
- Supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses and doctoral students
Your qualifications:
- Completed university degree (diploma or master's degree) in the field of chemistry, biochemistry or comparable, doctorate is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry, especially in trace element analysis
- Experience with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)
- Experience with laser ablation ICP-MS is an advantage
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Experience in the presentation and publication of research results
- Good communication and information behaviour, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative/commitment, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate, willingness to learn
