Projects
Publications and externally funded projects are elementary components of BAM's research and development activities. They demonstrate the high quality of the R&D work carried out by BAM staff and are essential media for the successful dissemination in science, technology, industry and politics.
In BAM's publication server PUBLICA you can find results and scientific publications. Open Access publications are directly accessible.
In our ReSEARCH project database you can find brief information on BAM's research projects.
A brochure on BAM's participation in European projects can be found here.
The following list contains a selection of BAM's research projects with information on the duration, subject, objectives, methods and project partners. Projects which are already closed can be found with the filter setting "closed".

In CopperDigital - Data ecosystem for digital material development based on ontology-based digital representations of copper and copper alloys - a demonstrator for a digital data ecosystem is being created. This is to be available to materials research and the metalworking industry as a future-proof …

Additive manufacturing: The Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) technique is particularly interesting for lightweight alloys as it offers advantages over the well-established casting processes. RESIFT aims at identifying the best heat treatment to optimise the fatigue life of an L-PBF AlSi10Mg alloy.
-
The aim of the research project is to investigate the influence of alloying elements, especially microalloying elements such as Ti and Nb, on the softening of the heat-affected zone during welding of high-strength quenched and tempered fine-grained structural steels.
-
In the ATLAMP project, a two-stage in-situ monitoring system is being developed for the L-PBF process, an additive manufacturing process for metallic components.
-
DiMoWind–Inspect deals with the development of a digital asset management system for offshore wind turbine structures with the aim of enabling targeted predictive inspections on the base of digital processed condition information.
-
In DialySorb, the development of novel, functional carbon anodes for sodium-ion batteries (NIB) is planned. The carbon anodes are to have an increased capacity and improved reversibility
-
Aim of the project is the validation and standardisation of characterization methods for the clarification of the structural and chemical properties of graphene for industrial applications.
-
A smart network consisting of stationary and mobile sensors monitors the distribution of air pollutants in several real industrial environments. This enables targeted health protection measures.
-
In the project, carbon dioxide is untilized for the production of useful chemicals. The development of specific catalysts will allow for the combination of CO2 electrolysis with bacterial fermentation in a more economical fashion.
-
EvalTherm is concerned with the evaluation, improvement and establishment of passive thermographic condition assessment of rotor blades on wind turbines.
