The division focuses on the automated development, synthesis and characterisation of new materials. We combine theoretical modelling and experimental methods to develop innovative solutions for various applications. We aim to create materials with improved properties that can be used in areas such as energy storage and transmission as well as sensor technology.

We use Material Acceleration Platforms (MAPs) that combine automation and AI-based approaches to accelerate the development of new materials. These platforms enable efficient and autonomous test planning, prediction, and data analysis. Our goal is to bring material innovations from the concept phase to working prototypes and thus accelerate technology transfer.
