Bachelor, master and diploma theses

BAM offers a wide range of subjects for bachelor, master and diploma theses in engineering and natural sciences. At BAM, you can prepare yourself for your scientific career.

If you are interested in working with us, please contact scientists at your university who represent your preferred area of specialism. You can also contact BAM directly, and we will be happy to help in finding professors to support you. Your application should contain the usual documents plus a copy of your intermediate diploma or bachelor certificate.

BAM correspondingly applies the Berlin collective agreement for student assistants. Special contractual conditions are agreed for students with a bachelor certificate (or equivalent) that qualifies them for a profession.

College work placements

Allow sufficient time for the administrative process leading up to the signing of your internship agreement. For students enrolled at a college or university abroad, particularly those from third countries, a more comprehensive hiring process must be followed, which includes, among other things:

  • Obtaining approval for employment from the Federal Employment Agency’s Central International and Specialised Placement Services (ZAV) before, if applicable, a residence permit can be applied for, including
  • Proof that your university is officially recognized according to the German Anabin database (comparable degree), with at least 4 academic terms completed

Start of internship:

  • For students enrolled at a university in Germany: no sooner than in three months
  • For students enrolled at a university abroad: no sooner than in four months

Duration of internship:

  • Mandatory internships as per the prescribed duration according to study regulations/internship guidelines
  • Voluntary internships: maximum of three months, provided that no such internship has yet been completed at a top-level federal agency.

If a voluntary internship is completed in less than three months, the remaining time will be forfeited without exception.
