He or she will also be able to participate in the Falling Walls Science Summit 7 to 9 November, which offers workshops and coaching sessions (hotel and travel costs will also be covered). All Lab finalists will compete against each other on the "Emerging Talents Category Day" on 7 November. And the winners will present once again on stage at the Falling Walls Science Summit on 9 November in front of a top-class international audience from science, business, politics and the media.

The Falling Walls Science Summit has been held on the day of the fall of the Berlin Wall since 2009 and serves as a platform for exchange between young scientists and the world's leading researchers on current innovations and solutions for global challenges.

The challenge: The participants have to present their solutions for the "Great Challenges" of our time clearly, comprehensibly and convincingly to a jury within three minutes. The jury evaluates the degree of innovation, the potential impact or relevance of the topic as well as the performance of the presenters. The spectrum of previous topics ranges from "Breaking the Wall of Cancer with a Fruit Fly" to "Breaking the Wall of Energy Insecurity in Africa".
