Virtual labs, digital twins, and simulation-driven design are transforming industrial innovation. These technologies promise faster development, reduced costs, and unprecedented flexibility—but only if we can trust the models and tools behind them. Many of these virtual representations rely on complex PDE-based models, advanced numerical solvers, and parameter identification techniques that must align with real-world data. To fully realize their potential, rigorous verification of software implementations and validation of modeling approaches are essential.
This workshop will bring together experts to assess the state of the art, identify key challenges, and review existing benchmarks across domains. We will also explore what a robust V&V benchmark platform should deliver and outline the functionalities needed for reproducible and trustworthy simulation workflows.
Organized and hosted by BAM Division 7.7 Modelling and Simulation in cooperation with NFDI4ING.
