The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. Your responsibilities include:
- Development of methods for the reproducible production of nanoscale drug carriers based on liposomes (loaded with Pt-based drugs such as cisplatin as well as fluorophores), structure-analytical and optical-spectroscopic characterization, and systematic studies of the reproducibility of nanocarrier production including loading and stability
- Development of methods and measurement protocols for quantifying Pt-drug loading concentration and loading efficiency based on optical spectroscopic measurements and using ICP-MS, followed by method validation
- Systematic optical-spectroscopic studies of luminescent nanothermometers with different chemical compositions in terms of achievable sensitivities and accuracies
Your qualifications:
- A successfully completed university degree in chemistry or a related field
- Extensive experience in the synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials
- Extensive experience with analytical characterization methods and, preferably, with optical spectroscopic methods such as fluorescence spectroscopy
- Interest in automation issues and method validation
- Interest in interdisciplinary, bioanalytical, and biomedical issues
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Strong communication and information management skills, a goal-oriented and structured approach to work, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate, willingness to learn, as well as conceptual, strategic, and innovative thinking skills
