The German Chemical Society (GDCh) has appointed Dr. Michael Maiwald, head of the Process Analytical Technology division at BAM, as a Fresenius lecturer for 2018‒2019.

Dr. Ulrike Braun and her team from the BAM are working on a fast and robust method that allows the reliable identification and quantification of polymers. The BAM researchers received this year's Mülheim Water Award for this project.

What exactly does the BAM actually do? Around 40 new employees of the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) went to answer that question and visited BAM.

In early February, a high-ranking delegation from Azerbaijan visited BAM in the framework of an EU funded Twinning Project between the Azerbaijan accreditation office (AZAK) and the German National Accreditation office DAkkS GmbH.

Dr Ana Guilherme Buzanich holds a PhD in physics from the University of Lisbon. Since 2014, she has been a scientist at BAM. For the ‘International Day of Women and Girls in Science’ in February, she offered a look into her research.
