The preparation of nanoscale reference materials and the characterization of nanoscale objects are the main activities of the Synthesis and Scattering of Nanostructured Materials division. We offer synthesis of nanoparticles at scales of up to eight liters. Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and both static and dynamic light scattering (SLS and DLS) are the focus methods applied. These scattering methods are rounded off by thermal analysis (DSC, TGA), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), optical microscopy, dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and tensile testing.

Orders for testing are performed in accordance with DIN and ISO standards. We serve as a contact for structural breakdowns and quantitative physical & chemical descriptions of (polymer) nanoscale objects. We welcome partnerships in nanoscale projects within a wide variety of consortia, both nationally and internationally.
