Our focus is the development and application of process analytical technologies (PAT), in particular online analytical methods. Process analytical technology is growing ever more important, for instance in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry and in food production, and will strongly influence the markets.

The motivation to apply process analytical technologies lies in precisely achieving the desired product quality, making optimum use of equipment, raw materials and energy as well as establishing an optimum design that is borne of an understanding of the process (“quality by design”).

We support process analytics by means of research, development, and public discussion in the following fields:

  • The continued development of online analysis & measurement technology and sensors
  • Establishment of robust automated process data pre-treatments and evaluations to demonstrate suitability for process establishment
  • Integration of process-analytical technologies, e.g. within the context of “Industrie 4.0” (i.e., Industrial Internet of Things - IIoT)
