Researching, testing and advising to protect people and the environment: with our 1,600 employees, we ensure that technology and chemistry are used safely in everyday life. Interdisciplinary networking and an excellent research infrastructure are just as important to us as an optimal work-life balance. And: diversity is a character trade of our working environment.

As a research institute affiliated with the Federal German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action we work on global challenges in materials science. The broad working field comes with a wide range of jobs for scientists at all entry levels, but also for administration and central services. We also advertise projects for doctoral as well as bachelor’s and master’s theses frequently. For High School graduates, we offer dual job trainings with insights into our manifold research fields.

To encourage excellent research, we make sure that working at our institute is compatible with family life and other obligations–and we are committed to diversity at the workplace.
