Do you want to work on exciting issues and independently advance research topics that make a decisive contribution to safety in technology and chemistry? Welcome to BAM, where your doctorate can make an impact!

Doing a doctorate with impact

We currently have around 180 doctoral students working on their doctorates or PhDs in natural or engineering sciences. We would be happy to support you in a structured doctoral programme with numerous qualification opportunities and supervision by experienced scientists. Your doctorate will take place in cooperation with universities that conduct the doctoral procedure and provide academic supervision.

Qualification programme

Within the qualification programme "Menschen-Potentiale" we offer you optimal conditions to gain independence and expertise to become active in science, business, and politics. It includes numerous interdisciplinary courses in which you can acquire essential key competences in the areas of research management, working techniques and science communication.

Working Group "PhD Students”

Would you like to get actively involved? In the working group "PhD Students", which represents the interests of our doctoral students, you can network across disciplines. Regular meetings and annual, self-organised events such as the PhD Day or the PhD Retreat offer numerous opportunities for exchange.
