Excellent research requires diversity and excellent working conditions
We test, research and advise to ensure the wellbeing of people, to protect the environment and for the safety of commodities. With our modern research infrastructure, we offer excellent working conditions.
Not only do our 1,600 employees work in different scientific fields; they also come from different countries and cultures. Excellent research needs an open welcoming culture: by signing the Diversity Charter, we have created a working environment in which employees with different cultural backgrounds can work together without prejudice, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, their beliefs, a disability, age or sexual orientation or identity.
Excellence requires flexibility, which means that a good balance between work and family life and other private obligations is just as important to us. We offer flexi-time and customised part-time models as well as mobile working. Our HR policy considers family and life-phase obligations and has regularly been awarded the "berufundfamilie" (work and family) audit award since 2018.
We also promote young talent and offer a wide range of entry-level opportunities for students and young scientists. Those who want to start a successful career through vocational training will find a wide range of training opportunities at our institute.
