Early-Stage Career Researchers and Principal Investigators of the GW4SHM project present their work at IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium, held on October 10-13, 2022, in Venice. The symposium has a long history of more than 50 years and gives a platform for delegates from industry and academia from around the world to get together and discuss latest developments in the field of ultrasonics. Apart from oral and poster presentations, the GW4SHM project had its own booth attracting a lot of attention thanks to a physical and virtual demonstration of different aspects of guided ultrasonic waves.
The most attention was drawn to the booth thanks to the snowflake-like transducers developed within the PhD project of Masoud Mohammadgholiha, an ESR working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Luca De Marchi from University of Bologna. Moreover, many delegates were surprised that we do not sell anything at the booth but present our research and got even more interested and stayed for a longer discussion in a relaxed atmosphere during the breaks.
