Description
The aim of the QT-LPA project is to develop a method for spatially and time-resolved quantitative in-process temperature determination in an additive manufacturing process, the DED-LB/M process.
Location

Additive manufacturing offers many advantages with its versatile degrees of freedom in design and material optimization. In order to be used in safety-relevant areas, high demands are placed on quality, which must be ensured by good process monitoring.
Due to the correlation between temperature and microstructure of the components, thermography shows great potential for this application. To gain system-independent findings, the QT-LPA project is developing a method for spatially and time-resolved real temperature measurement using multispectral thermography. One method being investigated is temperature-emissivity separation, which is why the emissivity of the materials used must be investigated.
