Last week, a Chinese delegation from the China Aero-Polytechnology Establishment (AVIC) in cooperation with the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ GmbH) visited BAM’s Adlershof branch. AVIC is particularly interested in quality assurance processes and would like to join international materials research networks such as WRMIF to improve its own research capacity through the exchange.

After an introductory presentation on BAM’s tasks by Jens Koch from the Quality Infrastructure Department, Dr. Michael Maiwald, Head of the Process Analytical Technology Division, spoke about the challenges of Industry 4.0 in his presentation "Digitalisation of Germany's highly automated process industry".

This was followed by a lively exchange on cooperation options in conformity assessment with Dr. Gabriele Dudek, Head of the Accreditation and Conformity Assessment Section, and Claudia Koch. The exchange will be carried on beyond the visit.
