In 2016, the State of Berlin organised a tour of pop-up labs in various European cities as part of a campaign to advertise the Berlin marketplace. The closing event was in London from the 21st to 26th November with BAM also participating as an attractive employer.

The "hands-on laboratory" in London's Soho gave visitors the opportunity to interactively discover Berlin’s business, science and cultural features. For example, young scientists in Berlin presented their current research projects in a "science slam".

BAM participated in the workshop "Should I stay or should I go? Careers in Berlin" on Wednesday. Together with the German Scholars Organisation (GSO) and the Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL), a workshop was organised to provide information about careers, correct applications, networking and properly planning your route into the German market. In addition to BAM being a large employer in the Berlin research landscape, the Federal Government’s departmental research was presented as the third largest scientific employer in Germany.
