The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) host the 14th BAM-PTB colloquium on chemical and physical safety engineering on 14 and 15 June, 2016. The event brings together experts from the explosion-prevention sector. The target audience for this series of events includes, in particular, manufacturers of explosion-protected devices and protection systems, operators of systems in areas at risk of explosion, and representatives from official and expert bodies from this area of work.
"The 14th BAM-PTB colloquium will again span various individual aspects of fire and explosion prevention. The diverse activities and expertise of BAM and PTB in their jointly represented Physical and Chemical Safety Engineering will be presented," comments Dr. Thomas Schendler, Head of BAM's Department 2: Chemical Safety Engineering. In contributions that are scientific whilst also being practical and application-oriented, BAM and PTB present current developments and research results from their joint area of work. The programme is completed with a poster exhibition.
The highpoint of this year's colloquium is the visit to the BAM Test Site for Technical Safety (TTS) in Horstwalde. With experimental contributions, BAM will introduce various test fields and investigation facilities on its test site on the first day of the event.
