How did you get the idea to become an IT specialist?

I am interested in informatics and technology, both of which are included in this job.

Timo, can you tell us something about your traineeship?

In addition to the vocational school and the practical training at BAM I also go to specialised courses in other institutions. My responsibilities in the practical training include, among others, network technology, systems maintenance, the protection of computers against attacks, connecting and setting-up computers for the individual job requirements of BAM staff.

Your traineeship includes an internship abroad. How do you feel about that?

Very well! It was one of the reasons I chose this traineeship.

What does this internship entail?

My entire vocational school class will travel to Ireland for two months where we will be appointed to various operations.

What is important to know when choosing such a job?

Knowledge of English and an interest in the profession are important. Due to the rapid evolution in this field one has to learn constantly and must not be afraid of the unknown.
