At the Hannover Messe Research & Technology section, BAM showcased its research in energy, infrastructure, environment, material and analytical sciences. Visitors could hear how offshore windparks could be maintained and repaired more efficiently in the future or how liquid natural gas behaves if accidentially released in tunnels. Other topics included the use of fibre optic and acoustic sensors in pipelines, rapid meassurement of microplastics in the environment and a simple test for detecting corrosion in stainless steel. Our RFID sensor project for monitoring the structural health of bridges and our activities surrounding drop tests and stress analyses also received a lot of interest at the tradeshow.
