Topic

There’s no place like real space: New nanostructures from Pair Distribution Function Analysis

Presenter:

Dr Kirsten Marie Ørnsbjerg Jensen, University of Copenhagen, DK

Summary

Nanomaterials have come to play a huge role in modern materials chemistry, but characterising their structure is a challenge due to the inherent lack of log-range order. I will show how we use Pair Distribution Function (PDF) analysis to understand size-dependent atomic structure in nanomaterials, and how PDF can help unravel the nucleation mechanisms that determine how materials form.

Registration fee

These lectures are free and can be attended via Zoom by to up to 100 attendees.

The lectures will be recorded as well, and (with permission of the presenter) will be made available online afterwards for a broader educational reach.
