Molecular-level insight into drug multicomponent solid forms: using NMR crystallography as a KEY piece to solve structural puzzles
Dr Inês C. B. Martins from BAM
Developing new pharmaceutical molecules is associated with high financial costs. As such the pharmaceutical industry often focuses on tailoring the properties of “old” drug molecules through the preparation of co-crystals and salts. The accurate position of the hydrogen atoms in these two supramolecular solid forms cannot be determined with X-ray diffraction techniques. Therefore, NMR crystallography is becoming a powerful tool to solve this problem. In this talk I will show how the use of NMR crystallography can turn out to be an important piece in the quest to solve structural puzzles.
These lectures are free and can be attended via Zoom by to up to 100 attendees.
The lectures will be recorded as well, and (with permission of the presenter) will be made available online afterwards for a broader educational reach.
