The “2nd Sino-German Workshop on 3D printing in space” is a follow-up to a successful first Workshop, which took place in Beijing on 20-21 February 2019. The first Workshop, organized by Qian Xuesen Laboratory (CAST), included a dense program of high-quality scientific presentations and fruitful discussion.

The scope of the “2nd Sino-German Workshop on 3D printing in space” is to replicate the success of the first meeting and to expand the network of collaborations between Chinese and German institutions in the field of Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) in space and for space applications.

  • Novel Additive Manufacturing technologies for in-space manufacturing
  • Manufacturing in zero-g and in µ-gravity conditions, parabolic flights and sounding rockets
  • 3D bioprinting in µ-gravity
  • Additive Manufacturing of novel and lightweight materials for aerospace
  • Manufacturing with lunar and Mars simulants

The Workshop will include a visit to the Additive Manufacturing facilities at BAM.

A dedicated panel will be focused on the opportunities for bilateral collaboration.

Further details regarding the programme will follow.

The workshop is reserved to invited speakers and participants only.

In case of interest, please contact the local organization in Berlin or in Beijing.

The attendance is open to all BAM employees.
