BAM contributes to preserving valuable cultural assets: discussion at the control rig while examining fragments of the Qumran scrolls from Israel using 3D X-ray fluorescence analysis
Have you obtained a Ph.D. in science or engineering and are now interested in exploring new avenues in your field? Would you like to do this at a respected institute with outstanding research conditions? If you obtained your doctorate no more than two years ago, a job at BAM may well be the right choice for you.
BAM offers junior scientists with a Ph.D. a limited number of one- or two-year contracts for full-time positions. Remuneration is according to TVöD (labour contract policy framework for public servants) at level 13/14. Postdoc employment contracts may be extended according to the regulations of the Wissenschafts-Zeitvertrags-Gesetzes (fixed term contract law for employment in science). An additional purpose of this employment is further scientific training.

For suitable candidates who want to pursue larger research projects (e.g. a habilitation) we offer three-year contracts with an extension option after a positive intermediate assessment.
In conjunction with universities BAM has also created several special junior professorships.
Even if there are no current job openings, an application can still be worthwhile.
