The “Paul Drude Medal” is a prize for up-and-coming young scientists, awarded for the first time by the "Arbeitskreis Ellipsometrie (AKE) - Paul Drude e. V." at the 5th Workshop Ellipsometry. The Workshop took place at the university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) Zweibrücken in 2009.
Prizewinner 2009
Eva Bittrich
from the Leibniz-Insitut für Polymerforschung Dresden e. V. (IPF Dresden) won the prize in 2009 for her work „Application of in-situ vis-ellipsometry for the investigation of stimuliresponsive polymer brushes and adsorption processes thereon".
Prizewinner 2011
Daniel Schmidt
from the University of Nebrasca-Lincoln won the prize in 2011 for his contribution "Spectroscopic Ellipsometry of Sculptured Thin Films made by Glancing Angle Deposition"
Prizewinner 2012
Wojciech Ogiegło
from the University of Twente won the prize in 2011 for his contribution "Superimposed effects of nano-scale confinement and penetrant on behavior of ultra-thin glassy polymer membranes" at the "7th Workshop Ellipsometry" 2012, which was held at the Institute for Experimental Physics II at the University of Leipzig.
