As a national and international representative, BAM acts as agents for the following organisations:
Pipeline Commission (AfR)
The Pipeline Commission (Ausschuss für Rohrfernleitungen - AfR) advises the
Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU)
on issues of the safe transport of hazardous substances in pipelines.
AGGB (in
German)
The permanent committee for the transport of dangerous goods of the
dangerous goods traffic advisory board at the Federal Ministry of Transport,
Building and Urban Affairs (BMVBS) advises the BMVBS in all matters relating to
safety during the transport of dangerous goods.
Adolf Martens Fonds e. V. (in German)
Adolf Martens Fonds e. V. is a non-profit establishment promoting materials
siences, materials research and testing, analytical chemistry and safety
engineering including health and safety and related areas. These are also BAM's
key areas.
Certification Body of BAM (BZS)
The Zertifizierungsstelle der BAM (Certification Body of BAM - BZS) certifies
products of importance in the sphere of statutory regulations for structural
design suitability testing, especially in connection with EU guidelines and
national statutory regulations. BAM also carries out certification outside
statutory regulation in its special fields of expertise.
COMAR
COMAR is an international co-production for the development and maintenance
of a database for certified reference materials.
German Accreditation Council (DAR)
The Deutsche AkkreditierungsRat (The German Accreditation Council - DAR) is a
working group of the Federal State, the Länder and the German industry and
trade.
German Rheological Society - (DRG)
The Deutsche Rheologische Gesellschaft (German Rheological Society - DRG) is an
association of experts from science, engineering, industry and trade that deals
with rheology problems. Its aim is to promote the exchange of experience and
views in the field of rheology. The society was founded in BAM in 1951.
EPTIS
The International Proficiency Testing Information System EPTIS is an
international team effort aimed at providing information on the quality and
range of qualification tests that is world-wide, comprehensive and embraces all
fields of testing.
EUROLAB-Deutschland
EUROLAB-Deutschland (EUROLAB Germany) is an organisation of national
public and private sector testing laboratories and associations which promotes
co-operation with scientific and engineering organisations on both the national
and international level.
Matwerk (in
German)
The Federal Association for Materials Science and Materials Engineering
considers itself as a lobbyist for the 29 participating organisations and
intends to pool initiatives in the key technologies of materials engineering
and materials science.
Office of the Accreditation Advisory Board
The Accreditation Advisory Board (AKB) supports and advises both the
Federal Government and the DAkkS Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (German
Accreditation Body) on issues related to accreditation.
Working Group of the German Federal Departmental Research Establishments (in German)
The Working Group of the German Federal Departmental Research Establishments
(Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Ressortforschungseinrichtungen) represents the special
concerns of Federal Departmental Research towards politics, other research
institutions and the public.
World Materials Research Institute Forum (WMRIF)
The World’s leading national institutes for materials science and
engineering are gathering in the WMRIF. The WMRIF secretariat is run jointly by
the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) of Japan and by
