International Conformity Assessment
Technology Transfer

The focus of the know-how international transfer lays in the fields of conformity assessment, accreditation and management systems with the following aims:

Removal of technical barriers to trade by mutual recognition of accreditation of testing, calibration, certification and inspection bodies
Assistance in partner countries for integration in regional and international trade systems
Increase of technical safety and reliability

On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), we focus on EU-funded projects for partnerships (Twinning projects) in new and future Member States of the European Union as well as in emerging countries. Besides, our activities cover projects of “classical” technical co-operation financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ) and its implementing organisations or by the European Commission.

iCATT offers customized training and consultancy services in the following fields of competence, which are linked with each other:

Establishment and upgrading of national quality infrastructures in the fields of metrology, standardisation, testing and quality management systems (MSTQ)
Training and advice for accreditation and conformity assessment bodies, certification bodies as well as companies according to international standards, rules and regulations
Assistance to public authorities in adopting and implementing EU-Directives
Promotion of the international exchange of scientists and academics
