Accreditation and Conformity Assessment

German Accreditation Council (DAR)

The German Accreditation Council (DAR) ceased its activities on 31 December 2010.

Remaining tasks (till 31 December 2014) left of the former Office of the German Accreditation Council (DAR) in responsibility of the BAM:

Contact point for national and international accreditation and conformity assessment related issues as well as visitor services;
Maintenance of the DAR database of "Accredited Bodies" as long as valid DAR accreditations exist;
Providing and ensuring information on the DAR websites, until they will be completely taken over by the national accreditation body DAkkS;
Ensuring information concerning the DAR Rules, as long as the DAR accreditations granted on this basis are valid;
Monitoring the proper use of the protected accreditation symbol (DAR logo) and ensuring the trademark protection until at least 2017, i. e. as long as the BAM is the proprietor of the mark;
Contact partner for all matters related to the above tasks
