Fire damaged Car park; How safe are the structural members for further use?
Usually structures are subject to different hazards. Hazards are given by loss of structural health, natural impacts and sometimes hazards are man made. Structural health can be investigated by experimental methods, determining actual material properties, structural behaviour and existing damages.
The analysis of structural health is supported by structural health monitoring methods. For further safety assessment, also hazards of actions must be considered. Statistical simulations are very useful to determine extreme loads or impacts. After extreme impacts, there is often the need of a safe use of the structure in the following life cycle.
