Sculptor Concrete at the Candelabra of the Charlottenburger Gate

Concrete technology including the use of new raw materials like admixtures and supplementary cementitious materials and the use of residues in cementitious or other mineral building materials is the focus of our research.

We develop, test, and apply new mortar and concrete mixture compositions under consideration of the suitability for civil engineering applications. The assessment of the physical and chemical characteristics and the suitability to structural engineering including the evaluation of the environmental compatibility of primary and secondary raw materials and new building materials form an important part of our work.

Our research is carried out in national and international projects in close cooperation with industrial partners, associations and research institutes. A further task is the participation in international and national standardisation and regulation processes.

Current focuses are:

For our tasks in the field of technology of building materials we combine expertise in various fields with a variety of modern laboratory equipment.
