• Scientist at department Concrete Structures at Technical University Munich (1995 – 2001)
• Dr.-Ing. in civil engineering at Technical University Munich (2002) with a thesis about the material behaviour of concrete under multiaxial loading
• Head of department Engineering Structures and Buildings at Schüßler-Plan Consulting Engineers in Berlin (2001-2007)
• Head of department Safety of Structures at BAM (since 2007)

• Safety, durability and deformational behaviour of materials, elements and structures under extreme conditions
