Safety of Structures

International activities

The department represents BAM as the only German institute in the European Network of Building Research Institutes (ENBRI). The department is also involved in European thematic networks like E-CORE (European Construction Research Network) and SAMCO (Structural Assessment Monitoring and Control). As a co-founder the department takes substantially part in the international network I-SAMCO. It is furthermore represented in the Steering Committee and in projects of the European network NANOCEM. The department is active in the European Construction Technology Platform ( ECTP) and a member in the steering "High Level Group" as well as in Focus Areas.

The department currently contributes to European standards and regulations in CEN, EOTA and ISO committees

The department is involved in international information exchange and knowledge transmission as an active member of RILEM (Réunion Internationale des Laboratoires d'Essais et des Recherches sur les Matériaux et les Constructions) and its technical committees, in EMAG (European Modal Analysis Group), EGOLF (European Group of Official Laboratories for Fire Testing) and in the ICPIC Board (International Congress on Polymers in Concrete).
