We deal with the characterisation of thin films and functional surfaces such as hard coatings (e.g. wear protection), optical layer stacks (e.g. UV-protection) or metallic coatings (e.g. corrosion protection or as electro-magnetic shielding).
Various testing procedures accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 enable the determination of mechanical, optical, micro-structural and electrical surface and layer quantities, common substrate and layer properties such as surface topography and energy, thickness, and adhesion.
Thin films can be prepared by physical and chemical deposition procedures (PVD, CVD, ECD).
Failure analysis (expert reports), quality assurance (testing reports), standardization (DIN, EN, ISO, etc.), funded and contract projects, advice and information, reference procedures and materials, internal and external service are further main activities.
