Working group
The requirements to be met on resorbable and long-term stable bone substitution materials are very high, especially as to the reliability and biocompatibility under physiological conditions. Even with non load-bearing bone defects mechanical properties of implants are of interest. Especially the characterization of the solubility and stability, respectively, are to be considered. The materials characteristics related to biological determinations are examined within the scope of external cooperation. Hence, our working group provides extensive expertise and technological know-how in development and testing biomaterials and implants.
Synthesis and characterization of biomaterials and implants
Open pore, spongiosa-like bioceramics containing up to 80 % porosity
Bioceramic reaction layers using salt bath processing sol gel synthesis and accompanying quality control
Spogiosa-like resorbable bone substitution material
