16 MN large scale testing facility for component weld testing and simulation (GAPSI 16): Determination of the reaction forces and moments and of the stress-strain distribution during orbital welding and subsequent cooling of a supermartensitic steel pipe

Development of testing methods for quality improvement of production processes
Assessment of the influence of design and manufacturing process on safety and reliability of structural components as well as of the transferability of laboratory conditions to service conditions
Verification of the applicability of materials parameters as determined by using specimens to structural components
Analysis of complex failures and reports for ministries, government agencies, courts, public prosecutors, insurance companies and other enterprises
Assessment of the suitability of materials and of manufacturing procedures for containment systems of dangerous goods as well as for pressure vessels

Compiling and providing expert knowledge and technical information on materials engineering
Support for the further development of existing technical rules; pre-normative research

Our large testing systems

20 MN servo-hydraulic universal testing machine for large-scale components with resonant system for testing frequencies of up to 20 Hz
GAPSI 16 MN facility for testing and simulation of component welds with integration of welding in the testing process
4 MN servo-hydraulic universal testing system
5 MN horizontal hydraulic testing system for specimens with a length of up to 10 m
