SHAPE RISK

Participation in the European coordination project SHAPE RISK (Sharing Experience on Risk Management [Health, Safety and Environment] to Design Future Industrial Systems)

SHAPE RISK is a European project integrated in the 6th EU Research Framework Programme (RFP). The main objective of SHAPE RISK is to optimize the application of methods concerning risk assessment, in order to create a basis for sustainable developments of the European process industry. Risk assessment in this case involves collective measures towards directives, processes and operations of analysis, evaluation, and control of risks. The following topics are being discussed:

  1. Environmental pollution, “Council Directive concerning Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control” guideline (IPPC guideline; 96/61/EU)
  2. Facilities with high hazardous potentials, SEVESO-II directive (guideline 96/82/EC)
  3. Occupational health and safety, European frame guideline 89/391/EU and ATEX 137 (guideline 1999/92/EU).
