The department has developed a quality management system and GLP (good laboratory practice) identification. Some working groups are accredited or are notified bodies within the European guidelines framework (explosion prevention, explosives, pressure equipment).
The department has at its disposal facilities for chemical and physical investigations as well as underground test rooms and additional the BAM Test Site Technical Safety.
