Analytical Chemistry; Reference Materials

Fields of competence

Being a competence centre for analytical chemistry, the department provides information and advice with respect to all questions of reliability, trueness and precision of analytical methods, and to quality assurance and quality control in the chemical-analytical laboratory.

The department contributes to the set-up and the development of information systems in analytical chemistry (e.g. database COMAR).

The results of the department´s research and development activities are incorporated into international (ISO, CEN) and national (DIN, VDI) standardisation and regulation. The department actively collaborates with trade associations, industrial enterprises and scientific institutions both on the international (EURACHEM, EUROLAB, CITAC) and national (GDMB, VDEh, GDCh) level.

BAM and the Humboldt University Berlin are co-operating under a co-operation agreement.
