Various chromatographic, spectroscopic and mass spectrometric techniques are developed and applied for characterizing polymers and nanoparticles with regard to size, molar masses, size and mass distributions, end group structures, and chemical heterogeneity. Special focus is directed on the separation and characterization of copolymers by means of coupling techniques, like LACCC-MALDI and UPLC-ESI.
