Working Group Reference Materials (AK RM)

The BAM runs a working group for all CRMs produced by BAM.
It is a plenum for:

- Publication and update of the BAM-Guide for the production of CRMs
- Exchange of information and consultation on new RM projects and support in their realization.

The Working Group Reference Materials cooperates in supranational bodies/committees (e.g. CCQM, ISO/REMCO) on the development, documentation and dissemination of worldwide activities in the area of reference materials.

BAM's Certification Committee for Reference Materials

BAM's Certification Committee for Reference Materials is the body responsible for the "release" of CRMs, which are produced and certified by BAM:
Its tasks are to:

Provide advice during CRM production in view of the demands to be placed on the material, during trials and their evaluation and in the preparation of the Certificate.
Evaluate planned certificates for CRMs in relation to the BAM Guide and prescribe any necessary changes.
Check proper realisation and verify aspects of certification such as:

- Suitability of the basic raw material
- Homogeneity and stability tests
- Schemata for the evaluation and calculation of the certified values and their uncertainties
- Documentation of the certificates, release of reports
