An open day and there is a fire?

Certainly. And a rather violent one. And all this for Safety in Engineering and Chemical Technology. And the visitors, who would like to see us from above, go up – in a helicopter!

You too are invited!

BAM Test Site Technical Safety was awarded the title ‘Selected place in the Land of Ideas 2009’ by the Germany – The Land of Ideas Initiative and Deutsche Bank. On the 9th of September 2009 BAM will open the test site to visitors on the occasion of the presentation of the award!

BAM has a lot to show: For example the largest drop test facility in the world. A 10 000-kg container for light and medium radioactive wastes will be dropped from a height of 5 metres. This drop test is part of the prototype test for the final storage facility Konrad.
